Fitness Energy has developed a comprehensive strength and conditioning program for young athletes looking to make it big in sports. This program will teach the fundamentals of athletic ability and provide the necessary tools to help you perform as an athlete.
We base our training protocols for junior athletes on the Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model. This adaptation focuses primarily on the individual needs of each athlete and their stage of development, in order to provide personalized and specialized workouts for all athletes. Chronological age-based modelling is ineffective, as each child develops at their own pace. When it comes to elite sports, you can’t create athletic prowess with
traditional techniques.
Strength training is crucial for adolescent development. During adolescence, athletes can go through several growth phases, which alter biomechanics and performance.
Young athletes need to undergo specific strength training designed for their current level of performance. Strength work will also reduce injury risk during development.
Most junior athletes are never taught how to run, they are left to figure it out on their own. As a result, there are huge differences between athletes in terms of speed and agility.

Despite a carefully designed training plan, young athletes can still get hurt. Appropriate rehabilitation programs can allow the athlete to continue training, reducing the impact of injury. Injuries can be a psychological hurdle for junior athletes, but with the right plan, they can continue to work towards their sporting goals.

It is essential that training programs are flexible for young athletes. Growth and development are taxing on the body, which can create additional fatigue. Our skilled team will assess the suitability of the training plan daily, allowing for adaptable sessions when necessary.
In order to provide these services to our athletes, Fitness Energy provides training at their facility in Park Orchards, as well as online training for the athletes who are unable to visit the centre in person.

Having great athletic ability is so much more than just raw power and speed. It’s about understanding the game, making good decisions, staying focused and having confidence in your skills. Our coaching develops these traits over the course of our athlete’s career. We aim to make every player feel confident in any given situation by teaching them how to perform under pressure.
To meet this goal for our clients, we provide private sessions, both face-to-face at our facility in Park Orchards as well as online training for the athletes who are unable to visit our centre in person.
In order to perform at their peak, athletes must focus on five key pillars of wellbeing. These pillars are Exercise, Mental Health, Sleep, Nutrition and Hydration.
These pillars cannot be understated for athletes who are aspiring to be the best. There are a lot of athletes who are physically prepared, but struggle with the mental demands of sport. A lot of these athletes can get in their own way and take themselves out of the game. The mental side of sports performance can be just as hard as the physical side of sports performance. Many athletes struggle to get over their own hurdles and become confident players in their respective sport.
That’s where we come in. Fitness Energy focuses on strengthening these five key pillars so that our athletes can perform at their best in all aspects of their athletic career.
Becoming an athlete doesn’t happen overnight. It all starts with a commitment to honing your skills and performance. Our program ensures that each child has the potential to develop their skills, so they can pursue an athletic lifestyle from childhood all the way into adulthood. This carefully crafted development process is what creates high calibre, multifaceted athletes.
Rather than follow traditional practices which fail to take into account different developmental rates among children, we took a new route. We ensure that every single junior athlete gets what they need at their own individual pace.
